About those fireworks. I read into this before and there are rules regarding the size of private property to set off fireworks. You need about a rural size lot to legally set off fireworks during designated holidays. I’ve had fireworks set off far too close to my home and continuing until 2 and 3 in the morning with a 5am start. Police are too busy to enforce the bylaw. It’s a serious firehazard.

I am landscapping in front of my house, My neighbor had a driveway put in before I bought the property, I found out that their driveway is on my property, . We havecutback the encroachment, is their property line now subject to the bylaww of having 2 feet of green space between the properties a swell as mine. //

my neighbor already has a driveway on the far side of his lot. However he is planning on constructing a second drive way on the other side of his lot which would be adjacent to my front lawn. is he allowed to construct a second driveway?

No, as long as the cars are not encroaching on city streets or sidewalks, home owners are usually allowed to park as they please. A similar question was posed on the City Of Brampton’s website.

Q. I am living in a semi-detached house and my neighbours’ cars are encroaching on my driveway. I’ve spoken to them about it and they just don’t care. What can I do?

A. Unfortunately, there are no relevant City by-laws pertaining to matters of this nature. This is a civil matter between two landowners that should be addressed at that level.

It doesn’t look like there is much you can do except wait for their courtesy.

My new neighbours in the basement park their two cars in such a way as to make it difficult for me to get in and out of my main floor apartment. When we spoke to them, they said they would take care of it. The landlord says he will come and talk to them next week. Next week hasn’t come for three week so far. Is there a minimum width, (I am guessing the current 8-12 inches isn’t enough), that must be maintained as an egress.

Wow, thanks for all of the information. What are the time frames regarding public pools? When are they open, and what time of year do they start the swimming season?
